Cairns is located in the tropics and is therefore not affected by drought. Students will have little difficulty finding work as there are many parttime
jobs available on local farms.

Full time work is available during semester breaks. Employment applications can be submitted on line to the employment agents when the student pays the first instalment. We will forward details of the web address to agents.


GENERAL SKILLED MIGRATION

As at 30 September 2008, students who successfully complete:
§ Diploma of Horticulture and complete relevant paid work experience fall into the category of General Gardener (ASCO Code 462311) on the Skilled Occupation List (60 points). Certificate III in Food Processing (Retail Bakery Combined) combined with Diploma of Hospitality and complete relevant paid work experience fall into the category of Baker (ASCO Code 451211)
on the Migration Occupations in Demand List (60 points).
